I don't know what the longest losing streak from the beginning of the season is. In Vickie's last year she went 2-12. Doug/David have finished 2-12 and 1-13. I don't how long they went before their first win, though. I probably still have the hard copies at home in a box somewhere and could found out. I do remember one team that started the season 5-0 and then proceeded to lose the next 9 to finish 5-9.

The Anti-Aikman

Someone else posited Daunte Culpepper as the anti-Aikman -- good fantasy QB, largely unsuccessful NFL QB.

The Anti-Elway
John Elway for most of his career had a reputation for being a good NFL QB and only a mediocre fantasy football QB. Well I think I've found the anti-Elway, i.e. a QB who is a good fantasy QB but only a mediocre (on his good days) NFL QB -- Kordell Stewart. Stewart played like crap last night but still scored the same fantasy points as Gannon, who probably had his career night.

On the positive side (always the optimist), the Steelers still probably won't have much competition for the division title.

Chuck scored 100 + points in a game last year and still missed the playoffs.

The St. Louis Rams offense looks supect - teams learned from watching New England in the Super Bowl that
the Rams be easily intimidated - so that cancels out Holt; Gardner is a possession receiver so you can forget
about him; Eddie George will resort to 13 carries / 23 yards box scores; Gonsalez is a TE after all so you can
forget about him; teams will stick eight in the box to stop KC's rushing attack so you can forget about Holmes.

This morning on AM730, Matt Perault was lamenting that no one was giving his Patriots any respect. Everyone that I heard called in said the Steelers were going to win tonight. Matt said that he couldn't understand why people wouldn't be picking New England since they're the Super Bowl Champions and they are even better this year than last. Personally, I think the Patriots are underrated and probably one of the top teams this year. The reason I'm optimistic about the season (have I said GO STILLERS! recently?), is I think the Steelers are also a better team this year than they were last year and they have a history of slow starts to the regular season. Last year the Steelers got blown out in their first game by Jacksonville then came within a blocked FG attempt of the Super Bowl.

Looks like I've successfully found my way back for a second post.
